Case Study: Founder Workshops for Branding and Go-to-Market

Challenge

Since mid-2020, I have collaborated with Plug and Play across its global accelerator ecosystem to help early-stage founders clarify their brands, strengthen go-to-market strategies, and communicate their vision with greater confidence. Across pre-seed, seed-stage, and international startup cohorts, founders needed practical systems to translate their ideas into clear positioning, investor narratives, and repeatable plans before key milestones such as demo days and fundraising.

Approach

  • Designed and facilitated approximately 12 interactive 60-minute workshops across 7 Plug and Play programs and regions to-date, including Visa Accelerator (UAE), Seattle, Sustainability & New Materials, Alberta (Canada), Brand & Retail, Arizona, and additional programs as collaboration continues to expand.

  • Delivered founder education sessions to global cohorts with participants joining from markets including the U.S., Canada, UAE, Israel, Spain, France, Germany, Mexico, China, Japan, England, Turkey, and countries across Africa.

  • Created customized presentations, worksheets, and all the needed founder education materials.

  • Guided founders through proprietary frameworks, including flywheels, brand strategy, go-to-market strategy, category positioning, category leadership, network effects, OKRs, pipeline acceleration, and more.

  • Provided optional post-workshop office hours and 1:1 mentoring to help founders apply concepts to investor pitches, demo day preparation, fundraising conversations, and team execution.

Outcome

  • Mentored 200+ founders through workshops and earned additional intros to founders from program facilitators.

  • Expanded from initial workshops into ongoing collaboration across 7 programs and regions, with approximately half of the programs inviting me back for follow-up workshops with new cohorts.

  • Helped founders:

    • Prepare stronger investor pitches and fundraising narratives.

    • Improve demo day presentations by communicating their value proposition more clearly.

    • Align teams around GTM priorities before scaling execution.

  • Continued expanding collaboration with additional programs and regional teams seeking founder support.

My Role

I serve as a recurring workshop facilitator and mentor within Plug and Play’s founder ecosystem. I design curriculum, create presentations and proprietary frameworks, develop worksheets, facilitate interactive workshops, lead Q&A sessions, mentor founders, and provide practical guidance connecting brand strategy with go-to-market execution.
